Critics Consensus

Marrying a clever spin on the afterlife with an infectious sweet streak, Eternity is a spiritual successor to classic romantic screwball comedies that's worthy of their company.

The Travers Take

A charming Elizabeth Olsen must choose between two men in the afterlife. The trouble with this often-beguiling romp is that it takes an eternity to wrap up. No one ever learns how to quit while they’re ahead.

It all boils down to whether you want to spend time with these characters. I think you will. Not for eternity, but a couple of hours sounds about right.

Beautiful film, great humor, with very moving dialogue and fantastic acting. Everyone in this movie has chemistry. For me, it's on par with The Notebook. Bring tissues... seriously.

This is a sweet movie, for what it sets out to do I give it a 4 out of 5. Some of the attempts at humor fall flat. It’s not the most amazing movie ever, it’s just one bite at the apple on a complicated issue.

Good concept and story however I think there was a couple of holes in the plot. Good for the length and maybe to laugh about but if the story armor were strengthened it would have been better.
