The Travers Take

Season 5, Volume 1 is more about recycling the familiar than hitting us with the shock of the new. So what if there are too many characters with too little time to register? The sci-fi series phenom is still essential viewing.

But Why Tho? A Geek Community

Struggling under the weight of the Netflix-ification of TV aesthetics, a bloated plot, and some rote, emotionless, and checked-out line deliveries, Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 fails to reach the heights of Season 1 or Season 3.
