Critics Consensus

Now You See Me's thinly sketched characters and scattered plot rely on sleight of hand from the director to distract audiences.

The magic tricks are quite spectacular, especially one which features Ms Fisher floating above the audience in a giant bubble. But Now You See Me needed more sharpness for it be a really good film.

It's a fun set-up with a terrific cast - [Jesse] Eisenberg plays against type as a smooth-talking card trickster while [Woody] Harrelson radiates easy charm as a mentalist and serial flirt.

Audiences go to magic shows to get fooled, but that doesn't mean they want to leave feeling cheated.

Once the investigation takes over, the Four Horsemen are relegated to the background, and we never see the behind-the-scenes action, which is one of the keys to any heist story. [Full review in Spanish]

I could have used more character development to help with the lulls in the story. This is a movie I didn't need in my life.

The middle act drags a lot but it has enough fun action sequences and an attractive cast that kept my attention throughout.

Terrible film - story and acting dreadful. Is it targeted at 12 year old gamers? It’s the first film we have walked out of in 30 years

I like the humor. I like the tricks I like the adding of three more And Lulu is back Fighting was believable but never knew they could fight? But I like it that can take it to a new level. I can see it… The history of the original horsemen could be fun to see a universe develop. Just don’t do a marvel multiverse please it’s annoying MCU is becoming ridiculous. Other magicians of the past and present would be dope like Harry whoodinis grandson or a prequel would be dope too old magicians history kind of deal. Can’t go wrong with gypsies and 🧳 travelers
