Critics Consensus

Getting the gang back together, Now You See Me: Now You Don't repeats a lot of the franchise's familiar tricks, although there's still charm in seeing these character pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat.

If a movie could be punchable, this one would be.

Eisenberg's prickly snark is still fun, but with the tricks getting less convincing and the scripts more exhausting, it might be time for this franchise to go up in a puff of smoke.

Absolutely delightful as a villainous diamond heiress is Rosamund Pike with a wicked South African accent and a twinkle in her jaded eye.

Movies We Texted About

It invites us to look closer, but unfortunately, the closer we look, the less we see the depth it promises, leaving only the fleeting glow of a well-rehearsed trick, yet empty of true magic.

Bleeding Cool

Now You See Me: Now You Don't is just as breathlessly stupid, empty, yet somehow so entertaining and watchable as the first two as this series continues to embrace spectacle over substance.

That Shelf

The flashy personalities and intricate tricks always scream fun, and this film leans heavily (and successfully) into the franchise’s extravagant wonder.
